(Francis) Warren Roberts (1916-1998) was a professor of 20th century English literature at the University of Texas at Austin (UT) and later director of the Humainites Research Center starting in 1962 though his retirement in 1978. Born in Menard, Texas, Roberts studied at Southwestern University, earning a B. A. in 1938, and his PhD in 1956 at UT. He specialized in D. H.
